Friends of Music Sustainer’s Dinner at the Home of Bill and Frankie Hipp

Bill and Frankie Hipp hosted the dinner for Sustaining Members of the Frost School of Music Friends of Music in their home on December 11, 2009. It was a well attended and festive gathering with great music from the Opera Theatre department and a gourmet repast.

This dinner is an annual event to recognize and thank members who provide a higher level of dues support to the Friends of Music. Their dues above the regular membership level are designated to go directly toward the Endowed Scholarship Fund.

Frost School of Music Graduate student, baritone Jeffrey Wienand and senior, tenor Jesus DeHoyos, accompanied by department chair, Professor Alan Johnson, performed a few pieces to delight the FOM audience. The students choose songs in Italian, German, French, Spanish and English which were professionally interpreted.

In addition, our own FOM member, soprano Irene Hammond, surprised us with a beautiful Puccini aria, accompanied by Professor Johnson.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Terry & Fleur Sequeira, Gail Richman & Julian Stein, and J B Floyd & Pin I Wu as new sustaining members attending. Unfortunately several other new sustaining members had date conflicts and could not be introduced.

Suzanne Floyd prepared a delicious gourmet dinner ending with a variety of desserts that completed a most successful evening.
