University of Miami Frost School of Music Winter Wonderful Gala

Winter Wonderful, the Frost School of Music Holiday Dinner Gala on December 6, 2009, raised a record $156,000 for undergraduate scholarships. Attendees were greeted by the world famous Frost School of Music Christmas Carolers!

The Fontainebleau Hotel with a recent $1 billion renovation was the perfect venue for the event. Lighting and sound were superb!

The fabulous event was even more special with the honoring of Martha S. Weeks with a Frost Legacy Award.

Martha Week is a member of the Friends of Music (FOM) and the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami.

The entire choir and musicians were fabulous!

Singer Songwriter and University of Miami Alumni, Jon Secada was awarded the Frost Achievement Award and performed as well..
Jon Secada spoke at the event with FOM Vice President, Rick Tonkinson, and enthusiastically accepted an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the Friends of Music. The award will be presented to Jon Secada at his concert at the Fairchild Tropical Gardens at the Valentine’s Day concert on February 14, 2010. Save the date for a wonderful outdoor concert at the Fairchild Botanical Gardens!

Friends of Music members who attended included: Carol Alexander, Thor Bruce, Dr. Morton & Irene Hammond, Bill & Frankie Hipp, Adele Neumann, Rick & Margarita Tonkinson, Martha Weeks, Robert & Julie Williamson and Alex & Abby Vicencio

Winter Wonderful was certainly one of the high points in the holiday events in Miami and all who attended had a wonderful time.
